Shambhu (Andrew) Switz is deeply passionate about helping others know themselves through exploring the mind-body connection. He is a certified primordial sound meditation instructor and Sivananda yoga teacher.  He has studied with a Nepalese Jhankri lineage holder Bhola Banstola for years and continues to stay in contact with him for guidance. Recently returning from 3 months of study in India, Thailand and southeast Asia, Shambhu now hosts workshops, classes and retreats in the US and abroad to facilitate others in their own journey of self discovery. He guides people in working with the healing effects of sound, breathwork, meditation and yoga(asana). Through diverse practices and ritual he helps to reconnect people with themselves and the elements of nature. When our mind, body and soul are in alignment with natural rhythms, healing occurs through coherence. Shambhu offers spiritual coaching, classes, workshops and sound healing online and in person around New England, particularly in Vermont, New Hampshire and Connecticut.

Spiritual coaching is the highest level offering available. Our coaching program is a 100% personalized approach to holistic wellness. Drawing from certifications, personal experience, and ancient practices, Shambhu guides clients back into alignment their inner wisdom. We start with a comprehensive wellness review to understand where you are at in life and the specific goals you want to achieve through this process. After the review we will decide together on frequency of sessions and begin to incorporate new practices, foods, and perspectives into your daily life. Reiki (Virtual or In-Person) - $40 for 30min or $65 for a 1 hour session

Shambhu is level 2 Reiki certified and offers these services both virtually and in-person.

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique used for stress reduction, deep relaxation, and supporting the body’s natural healing abilities. Founded in the early 1900s by Mikao Usui, the word translates to “universal life force energy” (“rei” meaning universal, and “ki” meaning life energy).

During a session, a recipient remains fully clothed while a practitioner lightly places their hands on or just above specific energy pathways or chakras to guide the flow of this subtle energy.

Reiki does not cure diseases independently, but it serves as a non-invasive, gentle complementary therapy used alongside conventional medical treatments. Major medical centers, such as the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and hospital systems like Banner Health, integrate Reiki to support holistic healing.

What can Reiki do for me?

We begin the session by setting an intention for the journey, whether you need to manifest, release, shift or heal. Our intentions are followed by brief pranayama (breath work) and a short guided meditation before being serenaded in a high vibrational soundscape including singing bowls, chimes, gong, drum and more.  I also incorporate mantras and Reiki into the session to increase the more subtle healing vibrations for added benefits. We can work on specific areas of concern to maximize the effects you are looking for. Experience these potent healing vibrations for yourself and leave feeling a renewed sense of inner peace, connection and wellness.

Private Nepalese Shamanic Drum Journey

A Shamanic Journey is an ancient practice dating back to the pre-religion times of animism. Shamanic Journeying uses traditional drumming to effortlessly induce deep meditative states of consciousness without the use of any substances. While in these deep meditative states we can experience healing, emotional release, pattern recognition, wisdom from guides/ancestors, enhanced overall wellbeing, and even mystical visions. In modern times we are so caught up in surviving day to day that we forget the more subtle realms and energies that are unseen around us all of the time. We begin each journey by honoring these unseen energies, our ancestors, and the elemental spirits of earth, water, fire, wind and ether (space). We will set an intention for our journey together after a brief introduction and explanation of the practice to receive the most benefits from our session. The beat of the drum shifts our consciousness toward the spiritual realms and allows us to expand beyond our normal awareness. The science behind these practices lies in the trance inducing beat of the drum, when we listen to repeated drumming our brains shift from our waking state into a deep meditative state. Shamanic Journeys can provide profound healing, new insights and awareness in our life that help us to see life from a renewed perspective which leads to new solutions and experiences. Sivananda Yoga

Sivananda Yoga is a lineage specific style of Hatha yoga, weaving together stillness and slow, meditative, movement including pranayama (breathwork) and asanas (poses). This sequence cleanses the nadis (energy channels), releases bodily tension/trauma, builds heat and deeply strengthens/focuses the mind. We play with the concept of exerting effort without strain, pushing ourselves to find the line while being careful not to cross over it. Leave this class feeling deeply relaxed, empowered and stable to take on all of life’s ups and downs. Suitable for all levels!

Retreats

Our first retreat will be a 2 week experience in the southern state of Kerala India!! One week at a traditional Sivananda Yoga Ashram and one week in the stunning cliffside beach town Varkala!

Primordial Sound Meditation

Primordial Sound Meditation is a technique revitalized by Dr. Deepak Chopra from ancient Vedic traditions, Primordial Sound Meditation (PSM) is a mantra-based practice. It pairs individuals with a silent, personalized Sanskrit mantra calculated from their exact time and place of birth, designed to bypass mental chatter and establish inner stillness.

The practice is simple and effective consisting of 4 parts:

1.) The Four Soul Questions:  The meditation begins by settling awareness onto the breath and silently reflecting on four fundamental questions without judgment:Who am I?What do I want?What is my purpose?What am I grateful for?

2.) Mantra Repetition: Practitioners move into repeating their assigned personalized mantra silently. If the specific birth-based mantra is not known, the universal mantra “a hum” (Sanskrit for “I am”) is often used. As thoughts naturally arise, the mind gently returns to the mantra’s vibration rather than analyzing the thoughts.

3.) Intention Setting: The practice concludes by silently reciting four intentions to anchor physical and emotional well-being: Joyful, energetic body, Loving, compassionate heart, Alert, reflective mind, and Lightness of being.

4.) Integration: Meditators release the mantra completely and sit in silence. This pause allows the body to seamlessly integrate the restorative benefits of the practice, lower stress hormones, and balance physical systems.

I am certified to teach this specific method and I offer this course as a private session or in a public class format over a 2 or 3 day period.
