What is a Mala?
A mala (or japa mala) is a traditional string of 108 prayer beads used in yoga and meditation as a physical tool to count mantra repetitions, track breathing, and anchor mental focus. Our malas are crafted by hand starting with an intention and mantra that we repeat during the creation of each piece. These are powerful spiritual tools to aid in meditation and to accumulate energy from our mantra practice. They serve as a reminder that the divine is not far away and can be contacted immediately at anytime via our personal practices. Each bead is surrounded by a hand tied knot and is anchored with the vibration of the mantra. Always made with genuine crystals and semiprecious stones!
The crystals:
Green Aventurine: Known as the “stone of opportunity”. This gentle heart-chakra crystal opens the spirit to optimism, amplifies luck, and aligns your daily manifestation practices with a state of effortless flow.
Bloodstone: Known as the “Warrior’s shield.” Known as a stone of pure vitality, it roots your spiritual energy firmly to the Earth, clears energetic blocks, and provides a fierce protective boundary during deep meditation
Other aspects: The Thai Buddha Amulet. At the heart of this Mala sits a revered Thai Buddha amulet (Phra Somkor style), serving as a powerful visual anchor. It is traditionally worn to invite financial harmony, shield the aura from negative influences, and attract supreme good fortune.
The intention: To anchor the wearer in emotional healing, courage, and abundance.
Sacred mantra: “Om Mani Padme Hum”
The Spiritual Meaning: “The jewel is in the lotus.” It invokes supreme compassion and purification.
Directions for use:
Hold your mala in your right hand. Move one bead at a time using your thumb to guide and ring and middle fingers to support it. With each bead, take a deep breath or repeat your personal intention or mantra.
Tips: Do not cross over the large Guru bead, if you want to continue after a full Mala of practice, flip the mala and go backward.
Keep your index finger completely straight and do not let it touch the beads. In yogic tradition, the index finger symbolizes the ego and is considered an obstacle to enlightenment.
