A Mala for Joy
Vitality • Playfulness • Grounding
What is a Mala?
A mala (or japa mala) is a traditional string of 108 prayer beads used in yoga and meditation as a physical tool to count mantra repetitions, track breathing, and anchor mental focus. Our malas are crafted by hand starting with an intention and mantra that we repeat during the creation of each piece. These are powerful spiritual tools to aid in meditation and to accumulate energy from our mantra practice. They serve as a reminder that the divine is not far away and can be contacted immediately at anytime via our personal practices. Each bead is surrounded by a hand tied knot and is anchored with the vibration of the mantra. Always made with genuine crystals and semiprecious stones!
The Crystals
Dalmatian Jasper: Infuses joy and a playful spirit.
Carnelian & Red Aventurine: Boost vitality, confidence, and forward action
Goldstone: Sparks creative ambition and drive.
Lava Stone: Provides deep grounding and stability.
Chanting the “Om” (Aum) mantra is used to calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and align mind, body, and breath through therapeutic sound vibrations. It also deepens meditation practice and balances all of our chakras simultaneously.
Directions for use:
Hold your mala in your right hand. Move one bead at a time using your thumb to guide and ring and middle fingers to support it. With each bead, take a deep breath or repeat your personal intention or mantra.
Tips: Do not cross over the large Guru bead, if you want to continue after a full Mala of practice, flip the mala and go backward.
Keep your index finger completely straight and do not let it touch the beads. In yogic tradition, the index finger symbolizes the ego and is considered an obstacle to enlightenment.
